Yesterday was a long overdue trip to Cape.  First we checked out Academy Sports.  I like looking at the grills and smokers along with the BBQ sauces and rubs.  They had several that I would have gotten if Lisa had found anything she wanted to get but didn't want to stand in line for just that.
Afterwards we went to Port Cape for a drink.  The service was not good, we sat for quite a while waiting to be waited on.  We finally got someone and the service was better but not enough to make up for the initial wait.  We also got some chips to snack on and they were very good, whatever seasoning they put on it is really good.
Next we stopped at Broussards to eat.  Me and Lisa decided to split a pick three platter and we chose two crawdad etouffees and shrimp creole.  They've changed it where you only get one side instead of red beans and rice and a salad.  We got fried corn as our side.  Mike and Debbie got the same thing except with gumbo instead of shrimp creole.  
I'm really glad we got the creole, it was really good and we hadn't got it in a long time.  The etouffee was great as always and the fried corn was good and interesting.  It was battered and deep fried.  Mike liked the gumbo best while Debbie like the etouffee.
On the way home we stopped at the Duck Inn so Mike could go to the bathroom.  Of course we had a drink while we were there, it was pretty dead so we headed on home.

Roll'em If Ya Got'em made their 2026 debut yesterday, at least kind of,  We played as Rolling For A Cure in this tournament.  After a lot of really nice days yesterday was crappy, cool, windy and rainy.  Anyway we were back on the courts.  Our pool played all of it's game on the third court which gave us a big disadvantage in the playoffs since they were on the two other courts.
We played our first game against a team of some players from Tuesday night and my cousins son Josh.  We jumped out to a big 7-2 lead before they came storming back and we had an 8-5 lead but we were unable to get that final point and lost 9-8.
Up next was a team led by Ian.  This time we jumped out to a big lead and kept going winning 9-2.
We played each team in our bracket 2 times so it was time for Josh's team again.  This time we once again jumped out to a big lead and kept going winning 9-3.
Finally it was Ian's team again.  Win and get in but also if we scored over 3 points we would be the pool champion.  This game was more competitive but we won 9-5 so we would be advancing.
In the semi's we played Can't Be Trusted/Brickdust Blues playing as Survivors, an apt name.  This is where the disadvantage happened, we switched to the middle court and they had just finished a game there.  They were also on fire and we lost 9-0 in three frames.  They would also go on to win the tournament.
In the third place game we played Wops on the first court and still could not adjust losing 9-3 for a fourth place finish.  Not too bad considering that three of us hadn't played this season.  We are planning on being back for summer.
Afterwards we went to Middies for Fred, Cathy and Clints birthday get together.  Appetizers galore were bought and drinks were flowing.  Very enjoyable time.  

After seeing all 3 grandkids run, jump, throw, slide, swing and everything else at Ultimate Gymnastics for their combined birthday parties we went to T Street for the first time in a few years.  It's not that we don't like the place it doesn't open until 4 and we prefer going earlier.
The main reason for going was that I was pasta night there with a pasta bar where your food is cooked to order in front of everyone.  I ordered the pasta bar with fettuccine, marinara, steak and mushrooms while Lisa got bowtie and Debbie got the garlic butter sauce.  The three of us got the house dressing on our salads.  Mike was the oddball and went with chicken parm with double chips.  We'd also ordered pub chips as an appetizer.
T Street has an excellent side salad that keeps it simple with white shredded cheese and pepperoni making it different than most salads.  The pub chips were surprisingly good.  I don't normally like cheese on chips but these were nicely done and also had bacon sprinkles on it.  Who  doesn't like bacon.
The pasta was great, well cooked and delicious.  The three salad bar people were really happy with our choice and there was a lot left over.  Me and Lisa combined our salad and took it home too.  Mike really like his chicken parm which is one of his favorites but he hasn't had in a while.
We can't let it be as long before we get back.

We had a little free time yesterday so after I finished some yard work we decided to go some place and grab lunch.  We'd had a big weekend so it came down to Game On or New Kahala.  She said it was my choice and after changing my mind several time decided on New Kahala.  
We've usually been going to China Buffett so it's been a while since we've been there.  I opted for beef rice noodle and Lisa got chicken in garlic sauce.  It was ready when we got there but was still hot when we got home.
My beef and noodle seemed lacking but some soy sauce made it a lot better.  Lisa's chicken in garlic sauce was good and you always get a two mounds of rice, in this case she'd ordered fried rice.  There was plenty left for a couple more meals.

With no grandkids yesterday and Lisa feeling much better we finally managed a little day trip down to Metropolis.  Not being a fan of interstates we kept to the back roads on the way down and then a different way on the way back.
It's been a while since we've been to Fat Edds and Mike picked it since the rest of us have been there and he wanted to give it a try.  The visit got of to an inauspicious start when Mike didn't like the logos design and couldn't find a menu since he was sitting with his back to it but it turned around in a hurry. 
It didn't help when I ordered mushrooms and hushpuppies as appetizers and they didn't get the hushpuppies part.  We then ordered their shrimp and awesome cocktail sauce.  Lisa got chili, Debbie got a smash burger, Mike got pulled pork and I got chicken kabobs.
The mushrooms were excellent, I'd rate them as good as anywhere in the area.  Of course the peel and eat shrimp is great and the sauce is too but had a little more horseradish taste than I remember.  My chicken kabob was okay, nothing special.  Everyone liked what they got and I'd say the smash burger looked very good.  It was nice to get back down there.
We stopped at a p[ace in AJ that we hadn't seen before called Brodies.  It had a really nice interior and also a beer garden that looked good. No drafts there though but a decent selection of bottles and cans.  Mike ordered captain and diet then found out they had his favorite Sailor Jerrys, it might be the first time he didn't ask if they had it.
We then stopped at Havisham for a quick drink.  It's not really my type of place but it's okay for every once in a while. Then off to home.
