Due to a variety of reasons when we go out it's been to places that are close and haven't gone anywhere worth talking about. Not that the food hasn't been good but it's routine so to speak.
I've been under the weather and haven't really felt like eating much of anything for several days and finally turned the corner yesterday. The Glue asked what sounded good and I mentioned several things including fried chicken which also sounded good to her. With a storm moving in it limited our choices and we finally decided to pick up fried chicken for Cindy B's. We hadn't had anything from there in quite a while and the last few times have been breakfast. We both ordered fried chicken all white, mashed potatoes and white gravy and a side salad with house dressing. They said it would be about 20 minutes so I waited a while and went to get it. They were taking it out when I got there but the waitress said the cook hadn't seen it was supposed to be all white and they both were thighs and wings. That wasn't what I wanted so I waited while they fixed it again. Both waitresses were very apologetic and said how sorry they were numerous times. I told them as long as it was hot, good and I beat the storm I was okay. They told me I could have both thighs that had been fixed in error and they also gave me a piece of peanut butter pie. It got done before the storm hit and I took it home thinking it would be cold or not very good but when we tried it it was hot and good. The chicken breast was a little greasy and the Glue said a little tough but mine wasn't. The mashed potatoes and gravy were good but very heavy and I couldn't come close to eating it all. Later on I had the peanut butter pie and it was very good, probably too good. This morning I had the salad for breakfast but added a pulled left over thigh. It really hit the spot and house dressing was good but different. 🍺🍺🍺🍷
