Flag Day tournament

 Yesterday I joined up with Holy Ballz Batman to playe in the Flag Day tournament.  After a nice opening ceremonies from the Elks flag crew and others it was time to play. 
In the first game we were never threatened and beat the Pallino Pounders 9-1.
In the second game we played Big Muddy Monsters.  They got out to a Roll'em like 5-0 lead before we scored 9 straight points to win 9-5.
In the semi-final of the winners bracket we played Misfits of Bocce.  I don't remember the score but we won and moved on to the final of the double elimination tournament.
In the final of the winners bracket we beat the Punishers to remain the lone unbeaten team but that also meant we had to sit for a while to see who came out of the losers bracket.
The Punishers were once again our opponents and had to beat us twice.  In the first game they beat us 9-6 so we played a final game for the championship.
In the champion ship it was back and forth until the Punishers made two really nice throws to take a 7-5 lead.  Fred was on fire all day and got one close to the pallino and made the Punishers use up all their balls and still left it fairly wide open.  Fred got his second ball in and then Ian got his first in but his second ball looked short but rolled out enough for us to get the four points we needed and the championship.
It was a very hot and humid day and it was tough on everybody.  With the later start of the tournament we didn't get finished until around 7pm and I was worn out when I got home.
