The Glue and I ventured up to the big city to see the Giants play the cardinals. We checked into the Drury Inn by the convention center and right away had problems but the Drury staff was so friendly that it was quickly forgotten.
We met our nephew Josh who works in the 'Lou and his girlfriend Nicole at Sugarfire BBQ which was around the corner from our hotel. The ribs were surprisingly good but we didn't care for the baked beans. We then walked down the street to a hole in the wall bar that Josh likes only to find out it doesn't open until 5 (on a Saturday). Across the street was a Mexican place that had Dos Equis Amber on tap which I'd never seen. Then it was off to the stadium so we would make sure to get the double bobblehead that our son-in-law coveted and when we got there the line's were to the end of the street and around the block. Once the doors open the Busch Stadium crew kept the lines moving quickly and didn't allow any line jumpers that I could see and it ended up only being about a 10 minute wait. We stopped in one of the concourse places to have a drink and I finally saw a Busch beer in Busch Stadium along with some other A-B offerings. As for the game itself, the Giants were coasting the first four innings with a 4-0 lead then disaster happened and the Cardinals kept hitting the ball out of the park and the Giants lost 4-7. BTW - Since I was wearing a Giants shirt I had several people wanting to buy my bobbleheads for around $10. Of course they're on ebay today with people bidding into the $40's and $50's for them. All in all a great but too short trip other than the game's outcome.
