When I got home we decided to take a little drive while we decided where to go to eat. After dropping a sample of brisket to long time friend BBJ we decided to go to JTs On The Hill. We had a little time to blow since they don't open until 4pm so we stopped at Teddy's in Herrin for a beer. I'm always surprised how close Zeigler is Herrin so we got there a little after 4.
After much deliberation over a pitcher of Blue Moon we decided to split a ribeye instead of fried chicken or prime rib which was the special. The waitress was very helpful with suggesting things and telling us what she thought was the best things on the menu. We got two salads and onion rings to go with the steak. The salads came first and were real good. When the steak and onion rings arrived the waitress had brought an extra plate and steak knife for us. The Glue cut off a piece of steak and most of it was fat. The rest of the steak was very good even if it was overdone for medium. The onion rings were solid and overall it was a great choice. 🍺🍺🍺🍺🍷 Didn't get the full five 🍺 only because of the limited draft selection and the steak being past medium. On the way home we stopped in at Big Muddy Brewing for a quick beer before heading home. It too was a great choice. We don't get there as often as we should mainly because the beer has a tendency to not be as cold as we like it.
