Lisa's, Waterstreet & Rose's

Thursday was the Glue's birthday.  To celebrate I grilled a couple ribeyes and we took it easy.  On Friday we got together with John and Lisa aka Baby Daddy and Baby Mama whose anniversary is next weekend.
Since we had two Lisa's the only logical thing to do was go to Lisa's Market Street Pub in Prairie du Rocher.  They'd never been there and the Glue had been telling them how good their fried chicken is.  We went up through Steelville and cut over to Chester which was real nice since I don't remember ever being on it before and it was a great day for a ride with the T tops off the Glue's new Jeep.
There were only a couple tables in use so we found a nice one with plenty of shade.  One of the specials was catfish so I ordered that with slaw and cucumber salad.  The Glue got fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy and also a cucumber salad.  Baby Mama go wings and Baby Daddy got a cheeseburger with fries since he doesn't get them much at home.
My catfish, slaw and cucumber salad were great, I really like all three a lot.  The Glue's fried chicken was once again awesome, one of the best around.
When we left we went to Mary's in Ruma for a quick beer and to show them the phone booth but once we arrived we decided to head on to Evansville an Water Street Pub for a beer.  There were no boats on the river and Baby Daddy said he'd heard they won't go on the Kaskaskia anymore because of the asian carp.  Sure enough when we looked in the river there was at least 40-50 of them.  Baby Daddy had a talk with what appeared to be a local about them and ended up getting offered some hash.
They'd never been to Rose's Bourbon Rail since it reopened so we headed there next for a beer.  I ordered some mushrooms to snack on but they weren't as good as I remembered and it seemed very disorganized there.
That ended a very nice day
