We went to Carbondale yesterday so that Lisa could look for stuff for the kids pictures this weekend. No luck but we both were ready to sit and enjoy a beverage.
We hadn't been to Applebys in several years so we decided to go there. Neither of us are fans of the food there but figured a drink would be okay. We walked in and sat at the bar next to another couple. Great choice all around. We had a great time talking with the other couple and enjoying our beverages. Great stop. So much fun we decided to stop at another place and ended up at Bandana's. Just the opposite of Appleby's. The place was dead, even the waitresses were sparse ( a little deja vu there). I decided on one more stop and we decided on The Cellar over Buckwater. Not as great as Appleby's but not bad. Talked a little to Paul who owns the place. By this time we'd decided to pick something and head home. We stopped by Dale's and I ordered a burger. Lisa ordered an italian beef and we got a huge bag of fries for the ride home. They said they'd bring the order out to the car when it was ready so we decided to wait in the car. It was done quicker than I expected but it may just have seemed that way since we in the car. We devoured the fries on the way home and they really hit the spot. Their fries are some of my favorite. My burger was good but not as good as the other time I've had it. It didn't seem as fresh or something, still good though. Lisa's italian beef was spot on, really good. Nice and juicy we a great flavor and the au jus just made it better.
