We needed to get out of the house yesterday so we decided to go for a ride and then pick something up to bring home. We'd kind of decided on new favorite Dale's when I remembered I'd seen the Sidney & Solomon food truck at it's usual location by Murdale Shopping Center.
I didn't have a real plan but we hadn't been around the Lake in awhile so off we went followed by the Marina and finally to the spillway. Kinkaid is really low, the pool at the bottom of the spillway was about half the size. On to Sidney & Solomon's, on the way over we decided to try a variety of things. Lisa had never had a chicago dog so we got one of those. We're always on the lookout for a good gyro so we got one of those. Lastly I decided on a burger with fries for the ride home. The fries were crinkle cut and most likely out of a bag. They were nice and crisp with some pleasing seasoning on them. That was the highlight of meal. The rest of the food wasn't very warm even though it had been in a in an insulated bag for the ride home. The gyro wasn't good at all, the pita was stale tasting and the meat was dry. I think the burger would have been good if it was hot. Same with the chicago dog. In their defense they weren't too far from closing when we got there and may have had their equipment turned off. We'll give them another chance but it wasn't a good first impression.
