Yesterday we made a quick trip down to Paducah to Strickland Seafood. It seems like a strange place to have a restaurant, in the middle of a residential neighborhood. The place was almost full when we got there around 12:30. They had a nice selection of draft beers including Yuengling which you can't find around here so I ordered a large Yuengling while the Glue went with a large Blue Moon. They weren't kidding about large, I'm guessing 32 ounce mug.
We decided to split a gumbo and their crawfish jubilee with a side of red beans and rice. We also had a side salad which they gave us two plates so we could share. The red beans and rice were surprisingly good. The gumbo was different than what I expected but it was also good. The crawfish jubilee was very good and hard to explain. All around a good place and we'll go back sometime. Of course the real reason for going down there was to stop by Fat Edd's and pick up some shrimp and cocktail sauce. We had an Octoberfest from Sam Adams while we were waiting which wasn't very long. We were both full or we'd have ate some of the shrimp while we there but it was great later on at home.
