With the Glue still in California we once again turned to the Herbster to sub which still feels weird to say.
In the first game we took on Muddy Rollers on the Kiwanis court. Roll'em got off to a fast start and kept increasing their lead until it got to 8-2. At this point Muddy Rollers got hot and we had started cutting into our lead. It kept getting closer and closer until it reached 8-6. On their last ball of the next frame they put it close to the pallino and Pete decided to knock. He was successful but the pallino bounced off the back wall to a few inches from their ball. To make matters worse they had two other balls that were points too and we were down to our last ball. To keep from blowing a 8-2 lead Pete had to get his last ball inside their two balls and go to the next frame. His throw was good and it got inside the their two balls but then it made contact with their close ball and moved it just enough that we got the point and the win 9-6. In the second game we took on Can't Be Trusted on the Silkworm court where they'd been for their first game. They started out strong moving to a 3-0 lead before we got a three point frame from Pete and Roberto to tie the game. We moved out front 7-5 including my one and only good throw on the night. At this point we had a ball close and Pete decided to get our ball out of the way and while he made a good throw the pallino ended up in a position where it was closer to two of our balls. Their last throw was wide and we won 9-5.
