We entered week 8 with a one game lead over three teams for 1st place. Clutch had to work late again so once again new supersub Danny filled in for her.
In the first game we played Bocce-licious on the first court. We started off with the game by getting one point and then it was back and forth until it was 3-3. We got a couple more points to get to 5-3 when the Glue got her first ball close to the pallino and Bocce-licious used all for balls to try and get her out. This left us with at least six feet or so between their closest ball and the pallino. We have a tendency to mess up in these situations and not get all the points we should. This time we took advantage and walked away with a 9-3 win. In the second game we played long time rival Muddy Rollers who were playing without Jay and Melba. We got off to a good start and a 5-0 lead before they scored a couple. We answered and closed out the game 9-2 giving us the league championship for the first time in a long time. Herbster and the Glue lead the way and got a lot of first balls close to the pallino causing the other teams to use several or all of their shots to beat them. We finished the season 13-3 which is tied our second best record ever.
