Emily's Eatery

Woke up yesterday with no heat so naturally we decided to go somewhere to eat before picking up Dax and the HVAC guy arrived.  After some discussion and not making a final decision until we got to DeSoto we decided on Emily's, mainly because of their special.
Both of us ended up getting the special of chicken fried chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans and toast.  Lisa got slaw instead of green beans and I got onion rings instead of green beans.  Neither of us are big fans of green beans when eating out.
The food arrived in decent time.  The chicken fried chicken was very good and hot and fresh tasting, also very big.  The onion rings were once again really good too.  Not so much the mashed potatoes.  They were not very warm and I didn't think had that much flavor.  I almost didn't order them and wished I hadn't but there was still plenty of food.  Lisa's slaw was creamy but still decent.  Oddly the star of the meal may have been the toast.  I usually don't pay a lot of attention to the toast but it was very good.
