Me and the Glue went up to Green Bay last Thursday for short vacation and of course to take in a Packer game at Lambeau Field. The Glue reconnected with a high school classmate whose brother in law has season tickets and she arranged to get a couple of them for opening day. See the Packers on opening day in Lambeau has been my #1 bucket list item for quite some time.
We left Murphysboro early Thursday morning and arrived in Kaukauna where we staying late afternoon. After a little discussion we decided to go to Starview Supper Club a few miles from the hotel. We shared a ribeye which was just ok and some broasted chicken which was real good. Some people at the bar directed us to the Lazy Dog sports bar where we finished off the night with a couple of pitchers and some good local information. On Friday we headed up to Green Bay which was about a 20 minute drive and went straight to Lambeau and the Packer Pro Shop. I couple have spent $1000's in there. We also looked around the Lambeau Atrium and stopped in 1919 Kitchen and Tap for a beer. Nice place but costly. We then hit some breweries/bars around the stadium. Hinterland brewery was ok but was loud and seemed more geared toward being a restaurant. Anduzzi's sports bar was really nice and we had some wings which were good but were so small they may have been pigeon wings, at least we got all flats. We walked across the street to The Bar which was just ok and then to Stadium View which was nice. We drove a couple blocks to Green Bay distillery which was nice. At this point it was time to head back to Kaukauna where we stopped at Lazy Dog for a couple beers and a pizza to take back to the hotel which was very good.
