October

October is my favorite beer month, most breweries roll out their marzen beer commonly called Octoberfest.  Both of us are big fans of Octoberfest style of beer.

My top three:
Sam Adams - it's great on draft
Leinenkugel - a little different than Sam Adams but very good
Founders - first time trying it this year and didn't expect much but it's very good

Rounding out the top five:
Excel - my favorite of the "local" breweries
Sierra Nevada - a little more hop flavor.  I didn't think I'd like it but did

Next up:
Shiner - it's good but I like the others better
Schlafly - ditto Shiner

Ok but not as good:
4204 - I need to revisit

Towards the bottom:
Paulander - it pretty good but only a 11.2 ounce bottle
Spaten - ok but nothing really stood out
Hacker-Pschorr - like Spaten nothing really stood out

Least favorite:
Hofbrau - lighter color and taste plus only a 11.2 ounce bottle

Haven't had in a while and need to revisit:
New Glarus - Staghorn but I seem to remember being disappointed
Yuengling - same as Staghorn I seem to remember being disappointed

I also sampled Route 51 and the Hop Octoberfest beers and both were good but need to get a full glass to really know if I like it.
