The website editor that I use decided to lose my blog post last Thursday and I've been fighting a health issue ever since.
Roll'em took the court as the MBC's only undefeated team but faced two teams close behind them in the standings. In the first game we faced off against the 2nd place team Biotches. In the first frame the girls got us started right with a three point frame, however the boys turned around and gave them three points for a tie game. Roll'em proceeded to get a series of one point frames surrounding a one point Biotches frame, putting us out to a 6-3 lead. With Herbster having a point and me having two fairly easy throws left I shorted the second one and left us with a 6-3 lead. The biotches got a point the next frame to make it 6-4 and poised for a run at us. However partner Herbster got a point in and while their next ball shuffled the other balls around Herbsters remained the point giving us a 9-4 lead. In the second game against long time nemesis Squatchy Bocce everything that went right for us the first game went wrong. Squatchy jumped out first to a 1-0 lead, then Captain Dusty knocked them in front of our point for a 2-0 deficit. At this point it was all Squatchy jumping out to 6-0 lead before we were able to string together a couple meaningless points. They closed out the last three and visions of an undefeated season went down hard 9-2. I've got to hand it to the Squatches, when we made a good shot they made a better or knocked ours out. Since both second place teams lost we are still in first place by a hair but missed a great opportunity to put some space between us the other Wednesday night teams.
