Yesterday when I got home from golf the house smelled from the primer the Glue had put on a downstairs wall so that it could be painted today. The obvious thing to do was take a road trip to get something to eat.
We decided on the Landmark in Chester. We like the place and the route 3 drive is a nice drive. When we got there it wasn't open for some reason so we decided to head to Perryville. We've ate at Mary Jane's several times so we decided to try Southern Roots. We went there for a beer one time but this was our first time eating there. They had Southern Pecan from Lazy Magnolia on draft so we both got that. We both debated on several things but I decided on fried catfish with slaw and a salad. The Glue got shrimp scampi that came with a salad. She also had them sprinkle cajun seasoning on the top. When the salads arrived it was a spring mix type salad which isn't my favorite but it was still okay. I like fried fish with tartar sauce on it and when my plate arrived the tartar sauce looked like russian dressing but the fish and the sauce were both good. The slaw was creamy but still good. The Glue's scampi was excellent. It came on a bed of angel hair pasta and had quite a few shrimp in it. The Glue said it was probably the best non-red sauce pasta she'd ever had. If/when we got back I'll probably go with it. 🍺🍺🍺🍺 Main downside to the trip is the catfish or something started to weigh "heavy" on my big belly.
