On Thursday we went to Wenneman's Meat Market in St. Libory. We'd never been there but several people told us about how nice it is plus it was a nice day for a drive and the Glue wanted to get out of the house.
We were both very impressed by the place and the quality of meat. We primarily went to pick up some ribeyes for Sunday but we ended up with several other things and spent way too much money. Of course part of the too much money was because they had six packs of Alaskan Amber which I can't find around here. After we got home neither of us wanted to fix anything so we ordered a italian calazone and a italian salad from Martels. I'd only had one other calazone and it was several years ago. Both were very good and it's a combination we'll probably get more often. Like we promised the owner we made the return trip to Rose's Bourbon Bar yesterday to try the etouffee. We ordered two etouffees and an appetizer of bacon wrapped jalapeno poppers. The etouffee was on point and by far our favorite so far at Rose's but that's to be expected since we generally like etouffee better than any of things we've tried. It'll be nice to have a place that's relatively close that we can get cajun even if it's only served on Thursday through Monday. The jalapeno poppers were good and weren't so hot that I couldn't eat them but that's more the Glue's thing than mine.
